Electronic Prototyping

Prototyping is a critical feature of any design process, and we often will prototype a product at different stages of the development process to test out a concept or demonstrate the technology. Often, these will be one-off pieces, using off the shelf components.

As the product becomes more resolved, a final product prototype will often be built before going in to production. It is likely to have the fit and form intended in the final product.

When it comes to electronics there are many times that you may need a prototype but each of these have a different set of criteria and drive separate rationale. In this document we try to help understand what prototypes are and what they are for.
